HoverEX was formally known as Hover Mayhem. Written as a game project under Malaysia Multimedia University (MMU)’s Games Programming I subject. However, after partially finishing it for the project, the developers decided to bring it to a new level. In which, bringing it out of the university context, it became an Open Source MPL 1.1 game under SourceForge by the name of HoverEX.
The first version of HoverEX which was never released was totally abandoned as its underlying architecture was wrongly designed; In the end, the developers, voted for a whole new rewrite. Which came about HoverEX 2.0
As of now, HoverEX 2.0 with codename “Hellow World” is in the process of active development.
